DIY Detox tea

Health is super important to any goal and bad health can quickly act as a deterrent to you goals. A healthy mind and body is essential if you want to achieve your goals and live a truly successful life. Good health can easily translate to increased energy and ability to get-up every morning and own your day– success naturally belongs to those who can own their day. This year, I made a more direct effort to own my day and start living a truly healthy lifestyle. I spoke about how health is one of my themes this year here.

I never believed in diets, I just do not see how it can be sustainable to deprive yourself of food.  What I do believe in is eating healthy nutritious meals to fuel your body. Rather than focusing on “low carbs” or “paleo” or “insert fad diet”, I’ve been cutting processed foods, high cholesterol foods, etc. My grocery list consist of organic fruits and veggies, whole grain,  I still eat rice, I still eat pasta, whole fish, lean meat, and white meat chicken. I do occasionally indulge in junk food and need a good detox.

For the past two weeks, I’ve been drinking my own concoction of a detox healthy tea. I drink it every morning on an empty stomach before breakfast and I feel amazing! The main ingredient is apple cider vinegar which has a host of health benefit. ACV is known to reduce belly fat, control blood sugar, boost energy, boost heart health, etc.  Here is the recipe for my DIY ACV DETOX TEA.

1. 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
2. 2 tsp Lemon Juice
3. 1 tsp or Organic Sevia
4. 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
5. 1 tsp of Honey
6. 1 cup of hot water

Mix all ingredients together, stir, let cool, and enjoy!

I’m definitely going to try this detox tea tomorrow morning. I agree I don’t think diets are beneficial and from my own experience my body just feels weak and I get groggy when I deprive myself of food so instead I try to eat food and snacks that will fuel my body and give me energy throughout the day.

Agreed! And I noticed that when ever I would follow a diet, the minute I ate a whole meal I would gain whatever was lost. So finding a sustainable diet that gives me flexibility to indulge in pizza from time to time is important to me
