I spent New Years Eve in the city that never disappoints, and true to form Las Vegas was amazing. This is my first time traveling for NYE and I hope this is a tale of things to come in 2016. I mean Vegas is a city with amazing remakes of international cities/ major cities. For example, we stayed at the Vientiane. Though I’ve never been, it felt like every bit of Venice, Italy. So my first predication for 2016 is that it will be the year of international travel. My bags are already packed!
Secondly, it felt amazingly beautiful to bring in the New Year with the same person that I rang in 2015 with. In that brief moment, everything was the same except for location. I’m talking fireworks, dancing, and midnight kiss. Cliche but it still warms me up!
2015 was an amazing year! It started out very rocky. I experienced a block in the road, it was one that I would never wish on anyone. It was a very tough time in my life and it also showed me who really had my back. I learned that friendship and family is not defined by time. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve known a person. What matters is their sincerity. Everyone shows up when the parties hot, but who is there when its time to clean up?? Important lesson as I move onto 2016.
2015 also reassured me that the old saying is true. That is– “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.” I started the year unemployed and questioning whether this career that I dreamed about for so many years was even worth it. I ended the year at an amazing firm and winning my first two trials!! I ended the year realizing that YES, this is my dream, YES I will be amazing at it, and YES I can and will accomplish any and everything I set my mind too. No matter the roadblocks, I will conquer.
In 2016, my goal will be the same, it’s not about materialistic things or social acceptance. It’s about growth and becoming a better person. A better daughter, a better sister, a better friend, a better advocate, and just an overall better human. Not perfection, just better. Looking forward to a better 2016!!
Lastly, in 2016 I want to learn how to pray with a strategy and purposefully.
I am ready!
